About the Course:
This training will prepare the participants with the skills to develop, implement, and manage mobile data collection platforms using KoBoToolbox. The software is free and open-source. It allows to create forms and use them for data collection using Android-enabled mobile devices as it creates an offline or online database of the form response and data submission to an online server.
After the training From KOBOTOOLBOX BD, you will be an advanced level XLS FORM Developer which will support you to build survey Forms in many ODK data collection Platforms like: KOBOTOOLBOX, Ona, ODK, SurreyCTO, CommCare etc.
Who is it for?
Anyone who needs to use a mobile-based data collection system, Students, journalists, government staff, humanitarian and development actors, KoBoToolbox provides unlimited server space to humanitarian organizations, taking off from the frequent use of ODK and other similar tools during humanitarian response.
If you have not used ODK before, this is a good tool to use to start learning about mobile-based data collection.

- Introduction to KoBoToolbox accounts interface
- Start to develop your first Form in KoBoToolbox through Form Builder
- Settings for each question types in KoBoToolbox: (Data Column Name, Default & Mandatory Response, Skip logic, Validation criteria, Error Message
- KoBoCollect Apps Installation on Android Mobile Device/Tablet
- KoBoCollect Menu, interface, and KoBoToolbox Server settings on
Mobile Device
- Managing forms in KoBoCollect Apps
- Submit/Send data to KoBoToolbox Server
- Hands-on Exercises with a dummy Data Collection Tools
- Tips & Tricks
Module III: Advanced Level (19 & 26 February, 2021)
- Details of the form Structure, Choices, and Settings sheets through MS Excel (XLS Form)
- Settings for each question types
- Relevant, Appearance, Constraint functions & using of dynamic calculations
- Grouping and fixed of repeating a set of questions
- Fixing the problem of using ‘Other’ and ‘None’ with another choice
- Using multiple Languages, Choice filter, logos, or pictures in MS Excel (XLS Form)
- Using special formatting for fonts color, style, and size
- Using of external .csv file for search and pull data function
- Downloading / Exporting data from KoBoToolbox (using API)
- Initial Analysis using Power Query & Pivot Table
- Real-time Data Monitoring through Excel Dashboard
- Hands-on Exercises with a dummy Data Collection Tools
