Main Objective : The overall aim of the research is to provide conceptual support to policymakers and stakeholders in developing countries (about CCD in agriculture and food security) as well as how integrated (adaptation and mitigation) climate policy, food security-related strategies can harness international climate finance in an effective manner
Brief Description: Global climate change and its impacts are affecting the agricultural productivity, food availability and supply, food market; and thus pose serious threat to food security of the millions, particularly in the tropical and sub-tropical countries. For many developing countries ensuring food security remains a key development challenge. There are multiple aspects that constitute food security from production to access, food market stabilization and building resilience of food production and supply systems. There is also greater need for effective integration of adaptation and mitigation measures to promote climate compatible development in agriculture and food security. In this contexts, Germanwatch and the partners have undertaken a research project to explore how far agriculture and development communities have incorporated climate compatible development (CCD), climate resilient and low carbon development in three low income and food deficit countries (Bangladesh, Kenya and Honduras) in three regions of the world.
Output: Promoting knowledge structure, network and power relation and how do they influence the behavior of actors and stakeholders for sustainable management of coastal resources and ecosystems.
